2nd Annual Kristi Chappell Photography Camera Workshop
January 04, 2012

So, you got a brand new camera for Christmas.  It has all these buttons, the manual came with it but, it makes no sense, right? I have the answers to your questions, I can break the answers down in a way to help you understand.  I'm not sure myself why I get it, other that than the fact that I usually make everything harder than it has to be and I do everything backwards.  That's the camera...it's kind of backwards, so I get it.

The 2nd annual workshop is for people who are in step one.  Step one of wanting to do photography for a living or if you just want to enhance your everyday images as a hobbyist.  I think the camera is the most amazing machine ever invented from film to digital.  I shot film when I first started, so I feel lucky to have been able to work with both film and digital.  Film cameras are more simple, they do not have as many factors that you have to decide on before you take a photograph.  Digital or DSLR's are film cameras with a computer attached to it, this makes things a bit more challenging.

Here are just a few of the things I will go over and teach.....
Color Space
White Balance
ISO
F-stop also know as Aperture
Shutter Speed
Depth of Field
Composition

ALL of these factors need to be taken into consideration to take a correctly exposed and interesting photograph.  It goes waaayyy past that one click of the shutter button. If you've spent $900 on a camera, why just click that one button?  We will have class here at my studio and later that day we can go shoot and apply what we learned so you can see how you can manipulate to the camera to make your photography look how you want it to look.

I did get a new Nikon 7000 for Christmas.  There are so many buttons.  It is overwhelming to say the least.  Is that something you would cover?

Thanks

Kristi

Hi there this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if How do you get rid of Achilles tendonitis? have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

mafia city online occupies a unique niche in the games world. It’s a free-to-play tank battle game that’s not especially accessible
